  • Important changes to the Tier 1 Exceptional Talent and the Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneur categories

    The application process for those wishing to obtain a Tier 1 Exceptional Talent visa has been split into two. Applicants will initially apply for endorsement by a Designated Competent Body. Once their application is approved they will have three months to apply for entry clearance or leave to remain. From 6 April 2013 Tier 1 Graduate Entrepreneurial will include additional places for talented MBA graduates from UK HEIs and to accommodate UK Trade and Investments elite global graduate entrepreneur scheme, which targets the brightest and best entrepreneurs from overseas HEIs.
  • New Life in the UK test introduced today!

    From today (25 March 2013) if you are taking the Life in the UK test you will have to answer questions based on the new handbook 'Life in the UK - A Guide for New Residents', which was published on 28 January 2013.
  • New rules for students, skilled workers and entrepreneurs

    PhD graduates can apply to stay in the UK for a further 12 months. Changes to the codes of practice for skilled workers will come into effect on 6 April 2013. Furthermore,UKBA now no longer accepts applications for further leave to remain in the UK as a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) applicant submitted to its super premium service.

    The current annual allocation of Certificates of Sponsorships (COS) will expire on 5th April 2013- thus, employers and UK based companies, licensed under the Tier 2 or 5 Scheme, are advised to request their next allocation ahead of this deadline. This can be done online through the Sponsor Management System.
