New BUNAC
Jul 15, 2009
Until 2008, US students were allowed to take employment in the UK for up to six months through the BUNAC scheme.
However, the new Tier 5 youth mobility scheme replaced BUNAC and left significantly fewer opportunities for young people, especially those from the U.S. to gain work experience in the UK.
After protracted negotiations with the UK government BUNAC is now operating a new Intern in Britain.
The new programme is known as the BUNAC Blue Card Internship Program UK and is a Government Authorised Exchange (GAE) supported by the Department of Innovation, Universities and Skills (DIUS). The programme gives US students and recent graduates the opportunity to work as an intern in the UK for up to 6 months.
The BUNAC Blue Card Internship Program UK has been accepting applications since 8 June. BUNAC is authorised to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship to applicants who will be required to apply for an entry clearance prior to travelling to the UK.
