Update- TB testing for China, Hong Kong and Macau

09 August 2013

On 1 August 2013, the UKBA introduced changes to the Immigration Rules with immediate effect- this means without giving the usual 21 days notice required to receive Parliament's approval.

In particular, we would like to point out that nationals from China, Hong Kong and Macau will now need to provide a TB certificate if applying for a UK entry clearance in a category which may lead to settlement. However, a TB certificate will not be required when applying for a visitor visa under paragraph 41 of the Immigration Rules.

Please note that the TB testing is a mandatory requirement and as such, an application will be refused if the applicant is unable to provide the correct medical certificate.

We have helped many clients with their visa applications and as part of our services, we provide guidance and assistance in relation to their appointment with the UKBA registered medical clinics as well as booking their biometrics appoitment to lodge a visa application.
