New changes to the Sponsor Management System for Tier 2, 4 & 5 categories
Jan 27, 2010
The UK Border Agency has announced that from 22 February 2010 all UK based sponsors will gain access to the improved sponsorship management system.
The sponsorship management system has a bespoken IT system, enabling licensed sponsors to apply and issue Certificates of Sponsorship for the Tier 2 Sponsored Skilled Workers and Tier 5 Temporary Workers as well as Tier 4 Students.
As a result of the changes:
· an A-rated sponsor will be able to certify worker’s maintenance though the online sponsor management system;
Tier 2 and Tier 5 sponsors only:
* a sponsor will be able to create, assign and pay for certificates in batches;
* a sponsor will be able to input an overseas worker's details into a single certificate, based on the worker's previous certificate assigned by that sponsor;
* a sponsor's level 1 user will be able to transfer single, group or batch certificates between the sponsor's users;
In addition, a sponsor will be able to send a 'sponsor note' advising about minor changes to a certificate of sponsorship (CoS) or a confirmation of acceptance for studies (CAS) before the overseas worker or student uses it. An UK employer or academic institution will also be able to input the details of a group or batch CoS or CAS, based on the previous CoS or CAS within the group or batch.
The sponsor management system guidance notes will be shortly amended accordingly to reflect the above changes.
