Post Study Work
The Post-Study Work category replaces both the previous International Graduates Scheme (IGS) and the Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland Scheme, allowing successful applicants to transfer into any of the other Tier 1 categories under the Points Based System, as long as they meet specific requirements.
You must score a minimum of 75 points, which could be achieved in the following categories:
Education
To be awarded points for education, you must have completed one of the following:
- A recognised UK bachelor’s or postgraduate degree
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) qualification from a recognised Scottish institution
Institution Recognition
There are a total of 20 points in this category. To qualify, the educational institution, where you studied for your qualification, must be an approved Tier 4 education provider.
Previous Immigration Status
The qualification must have been obtained whilst in the UK in one of the following UK immigration categories:
- Student / Tier 4 holder
- Dependant of the main applicant in the UK
Date of the application
If your application is submitted within 12 months from the date of obtaining the qualification, you might be eligible for 15 points in this category.
Additional Requirements
- Self sufficiency (maintenance)
The Post-Study Work is granted for up to a maximum of two years and further extensions are not permitted.
