UKBA’ s fee increases for immigration and nationality: apply now!!
The UK Border Agency has today announced proposals to increase immigration and nationality application fees for all those applying to visit, study, work or stay in the UK from autumn 2010.
Settlement application submitted at the Public Enquiry office to be processed in one day will increase from £1095 to £1250, while the nationality will increase from £735 to £780. However, the biggest change is for the dependants applying to have their leave extended in line with the main applicant. The fee will be doubled from £154 to £350!!
Please note that regulations to set application fees at or below the cost of processing are subject to the negative parliamentary procedure, and these fees will increase from 1 October 2010.
The UKBA has also published new versions of application forms, and a new version of the Tier 1 (General) policy guidance.
New versions of the following application forms were published:
▪ Tier 1 (General) form
▪ Tier 1 (Post-study Work) form
▪ Tier 2 form
▪ Tier 4 (General) form
▪ Tier 4 (Child) form
▪ PBS Dependant form
We would strongly encourage applicants not to delay their submission in order to avoid a substantial increase in the costs of applying.
