It is essential to be aware that some foreign migrants who are living in the UK have to register with the police and obtain a Police Registration Certificate within one week from arrival in the UK.

This is a mandatory requirement and failing to do so might have very serious consequences. In addition, each time there is a change in circumstances (including a change of immigration status or extension of the period for which the individual has leave to remain in the UK, change in address or renewal of passport) the change must be reported to the police and the Police Registration Certificate will be amended accordingly.
