UK visas: date of the application
There is still some confusion with regards to what constitutes the date of the application for entry clearance as well as leave to remain applications and we would like to clarify it here.
For all out-of country (entry clearance) applications the date of application is the date that the fee associated with the application is paid. This means the date shown on the payment receipt, which depends on how the fee was paid for the visa application i.e. in person or online.
The application date for all UK visas submitted in-country (leave to remain) is the day on which the application was submitted by post or presented at the PEO office using the same day service.
