Processing times for the long residence category
In light of the number of enquiries received, we would like to confirm that applications made under paragraph 276 of the Immigration Rules, commonly known as the Long Residence category, are no longer processed at the Public Enquiry Office using the same day service.
In order to qualify under the long residence category, you will need to show that you have been living in the UK for a continuous period of 10 years legally. There should be no absence greater than 6 months in any one year and no more than 18 months in total. Currently applications are taking at least 14 weeks to be processed. Please note that if you were to request your passport back, the application would be considered withdrawn.
