100 points to meet Tier 1 threshold!!!
Following the UKBA's announcement regarding the increase of the minimum threshold for Tier 1 (General) applicants we have received a number of enquires requesting further clarifications.
We would like to confirm that those who are already in the UK in one of the following categories and wish to extend their stay in Tier 1 (General) will not be affected by those changes :
- Tier 1 (General)
- Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
- Writers, Composers and Artists
- Self-Employed Lawyers
However, the higher threshold of 100 introduced on 19 July 2010 will apply to those in other visa categories including Tier 1 (Post Study Work).
All applicants submitted outside the UK will have to score a minimum of 100 points to qualify under the Tier 1 (General) category.
