  • Tier 2 Work Permit: update on changes to the Sponsorship Management System

    From 1 October the UK Border Agency will no longer accept cheque payments for Certificates of Sponsorship (COS), Confirmations of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) and sponsor applications
  • Possible new visa regime to be introduced for visitors from the eastern Caribbean countries.

    The government has announced that it is considering introducing a visa requirement on visitors to the UK from Dominica and St Lucia, after carrying out a Visa Waiver Test on seven countries in the eastern Caribbean. 

  • Changes to the SMS system for Tier 2 and Tier 5 sponsors
    February 17
    On 22 February 2010, the UK immigration authorities will introduce the latest version of the Sponsorship Management System (SMS). At the same time, will implement the final phase of Tier 4 of the Points Based System.
  • Tier 1 General applications - steady improvement in processing times

    During the week commencing 8 February 2010, the UK Border Agency expects to be considering applications lodged in mid January 2010.
  • Tier 1 General applications- faster service

    We have been advised that the UK Border Agency is currently dealing with Tier 1 General applications which were submitted by post on or before 29 December 2009.
  • Long Residence: Same Day Service
    January 24
    The same day service is no longer available for applications under the Long Residence category!
  • Waiting time for Tier 1 postal applications

    The UK Border Agency may be experiencing delay due to the high volume of applications received under the Tier 1 Scheme and the Christmas holidays next week. We would advise you to make flexible travelling arrangements to avoid disappointment.
