How to check EU Skilled Workers’ status?

EU nationals who are applying for a Skilled Worker (SW) visa by using the Identity Verification (IDV) App will not be issued with an entry clearance vignette or a biometric residence card.

EU citizens can view and prove their immigration status online via the official website: https://www.gov.uk/view-prove-immigration-status.

Migrants can use this service to receive a ‘share code’ to prove their status to their employers, or update their personal details (such as passport number or email address), or check what rights do they have in the UK (for instance, the right to work, rent or claim benefits).

Individuals will need to provide the following information in order to view their immigration status:

  • Details of the identity document they used when they applied (passport, national identity card, or biometric residence card or permit);
  • Date of birth;
  • Access to the mobile number or email address they used when they applied – they will be sent a code for logging in.

Please note that online view and prove service can be used to share migrants’ immigration status information with third parties.
