IHS will increase from October 2020

On 11 March 2020, the UK government announced that the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) will increase from £400 to £624 per year from October 2020. The new figure will apply for surcharge liable non-EU migrants and their dependants, and will expand to include EU migrants from January 2021.

The measure also increases the discounted rate for students and their dependents, as well as those Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS) migrants from £300 to £470. The surcharge will also be set at £470 for all children under the age of 18.

Although UK visa application fees do not appear to be rising in 2020/2021, the IHS will increase the cost of many visas.
