The new Graduate Route to be launched in 2021

On 11 September 2019, the Home Office announced that international students who have been successfully awarded a UK degree in any subject from a trusted UK university or higher education provider will be able to stay in the UK for a further 2 years to gain working experience.

On 14 October 2019, the Home office confirmed that the new Graduate Route will only be launched in the summer of 2021. This is disappointing! The new scheme will be available to international students who have completed a degree at undergraduate level or above at a Higher Education Provider with a track record of compliance and who have a valid Tier 4 visa at the time of application.

Please note that those whose Tier 4 leave to remain expires prior to the route is launched will NOT be eligible for it.

Migrants who are applying for the new visa scheme will NOT need a sponsor. Please note that the new Graduate Immigration Route will NOT lead to settlement. However, this scheme allows migrants to switch into skilled work, which is a route leads to Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), for example, Tier 2 (General) visa.
