UKVCAS Service update – BRP/BRC replacement

Individuals might need to apply for a biometric residence permit/ card (BRP/BRC) replacement if:

  • Their passport or travel document has expired or it’s been lost or stolen;
  • The details on their visa (including their facial appearance) have changed;

Migrants should apply from the official website: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk/product/biometric-residence-permit-replacement-service.

The fees for indefinite leave to remain BRP/BRC replacement application are £229, whilst a limited leave to remain BRP/BRC replacement application costs £161. Applications should be decided within 8 weeks, but it is possible to obtain an earlier decision by paying an additional fee to expedite the process to a 24/48 hours turnaround.

From 22 April 2021, migrants who would like to apply for a BRP/BRC replacement are no longer able to book an appointment via UKVCAS centres. They will need to provide their biometric information using the IDV app and UKVCAS will then email applicants the next steps.

For those appointments completed on/after 15 April 2021, UKVCAS will send new email to confirm:

  • Your supporting information for the visa application has been sent to UKVI following your UKVCAS appointment or submission on the IDV app;
  • All updates about your application come directly from UKVI and NOT from UKVCAS.

Migrants should watch out for an email called ‘Your supporting information has been submitted to UKVI’ to their UKVCAS registered email account within 24 hours of their UKVCAS appointment or submission on the IDV app.
