On 4 February 2016, the Home Office announced that the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) will be extended to Australian and New Zealand nationals.<\/p>\n

As of 6 April 2016, Australian and New Zealand applicants who are planning to spend more than 6 months in the UK, or who are applying further leave to remain in the UK will be required to pay the IHS surcharge. The cost for the IHS is in the amount of \u00a3200 per annum per applicant payable in full.<\/p>\n

However, Tier 4 General and Tier 5 Youth Mobility migrants will benefit from a discount rate of \u00a3150 per person per year. If an application were to be refused, the IHS would be fully refunded. However if the visa is issued and the migrant fails to enter the UK within its validity, the IHS will not be refunded.<\/p>\n
