However, those who are applying as a Tier 2 (Sportsperson), Representative of an Overseas Business, Partner, Parent, Settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) and British citizenship will only be assessed in their\u00a0<strong>Speaking and Listening<\/strong>\u00a0skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Approved test providers and approved tests<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals can only take a secure English language test (SELT) with one of the following providers:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IELTS SELT Consortium (UK or overseas)<\/li>\n<li>LanguageCert (UK or overseas)<\/li>\n<li>Trinity College London (UK only)<\/li>\n<li>Pearson (UK and overseas)<\/li>\n<li>PSI Services (UK) Ltd (overseas only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Approved SELT centres<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Migrants can book the qualified English language test via the following official websites:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trinity College London: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trinitycollege.com\/qualifications\/SELT\/UKVI\/SELT-centres\">https:\/\/www.trinitycollege.com\/qualifications\/SELT\/UKVI\/SELT-centres<\/a><\/li>\n<li>IELTS SELT Consortium:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ielts.org\/book-a-test\/find-a-test-location\">https:\/\/www.ielts.org\/book-a-test\/find-a-test-location<\/a><\/li>\n<li>LanguageCert:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/selt.languagecert.org\/locations\">https:\/\/selt.languagecert.org\/locations<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Pearson: <a href=\"https:\/\/pearsonpte.com\/locations\/\">https:\/\/pearsonpte.com\/locations\/<\/a><\/li>\n<li>PSI Services (UK) Ltd:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/skillsforenglish.com\/\">https:\/\/skillsforenglish.com\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please make sure the test that you book is the one approved for SELT:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>IELTS SELT Consortium: \u2018IELTS for UKVI\u2019;<\/li>\n<li>LanguageCert: \u2018LanguageCert International ESOL SELT\u2019;<\/li>\n<li>Trinity College London: \u2018Secure English Language Tests for UKVI\u2019;<\/li>\n<li>Pearson: \u2018PTE Academic UKVI\u2019 or \u2018PTE Home\u2019;<\/li>\n<li>PSI Services: \u2018Skills for English UKVI\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants should be able to take a test within 28 days of booking.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prove your identity on the day of the test<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals will need to provide evidence of their identity at the test location before they can take the test.<\/p>\n<p>The identity document must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be current and valid;<\/li>\n<li>Be an original, not a photocopy;<\/li>\n<li>Include a photo of the migrant;<\/li>\n<li>Match the information they gave when they booked the test;<\/li>\n<li>If their identity document has a signature, this will also be checked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please note that if you have changed your name, you must provide evidence of your previous name, for instance: Marriage certificate (with a certified English translation if necessary), UK spouse visa (within date) in a passport or a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP), Original deed poll change of name document.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Acceptable documents<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals can use the following documents as identification for tests taken in the UK and outside the UK:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Passport;<\/li>\n<li>Biometric Residence Permit;<\/li>\n<li>Biometric Residence Card;<\/li>\n<li>Convention travel document;<\/li>\n<li>Stateless persons travel document;<\/li>\n<li>Travel document issued by the United Nations;<\/li>\n<li>Travel document issued by the International Red Cross;<\/li>\n<li>Identity cards of EEA nationals;<\/li>\n<li>Valid photographic government issued identity cards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please be advised that emergency travel documents will <strong>NOT<\/strong> be accepted as proof of identity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>After the test<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidates will receive a SELT Unique Reference Number (URN) after they pass the test.
