Generally, workers granted permission on the Worker or Temporary Worker routes must work for the sponsor, and in the employment, specified on their Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) \u2026.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>S8.7. In addition, depending on the route on which they have been granted, sponsored workers may be allowed to: <\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em> take additional employment (Scale-up Workers only) <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> work out a contractual notice period <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>take supplementary employment <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> take secondary employment with a second CoS <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> take limited temporary employment as a sportsperson or as a sports broadcaster <\/em><\/li>\n<li><em> do voluntary work\u2026.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, as a GENERAL Skilled worker visa holder, you may be able to take supplementary employment, but you will have to satisfy the requirements below to take a second job.<\/p>\n<p><em>S8.12. Supplementary employment must meet all of the following requirements<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>it must be in the <strong>same profession and at the same professional level<\/strong> as the work for which the worker\u2019s CoS was assigned or <strong>be a job which is in an occupation listed<\/strong> in Appendix Shortage Occupation List \u2013 if the occupation is later removed from the list of shortage occupations, the worker must finish that employment<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>it must be for <strong>no more than 20 hours<\/strong> a week; and<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>it must take place outside of the normal working hours for which the worker\u2019s CoS was assigned<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>S8.13. Where supplementary employment is permitted, it does not have to be with a licensed sponsor. Sponsored workers do not need to advise us of any supplementary employment they undertake as long as it meets these criteria.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For example, if you are currently being sponsored as a Financial Analyst, you cannot take on additional employment as a Sales Assistant at a retail store or a barista at a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Your supplementary working hours should be less than 20 hours per week, and must take place outside the normal working hours in your sponsored job.<\/p>\n<p>You can undertake supplementary employment for an employer <strong><u>who does not hold a sponsor license<\/u><\/strong> if your second job falls into S8.12.<\/p>\n<p>It is also possible to be sponsored in a second job (if you wish to take on a second job where you will be working<strong> more than 20 hours<\/strong> a week or in a different occupation code). You will need to be assigned a COS by your second employer, so that you can make an <strong>additional visa application<\/strong>.
