On 13 October 2023, the UK government announced a significant increase in the Immigration Health Surcharge fees (IHS). This was followed by the publication of the draft Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2023, which specified that the earliest effective date would be 16 January 2024.<\/p>\n
As a result, the IHS for adults will rise to \u00a31035 per year from \u00a3624, and the child\u2019s IHS is set to increase to \u00a3776 per year, replacing the current \u00a3470 per year. The lower rate will also apply to for students, student dependants, those applying for entry clearance or leave to remain under the Youth Mobility Scheme.<\/p>\n
However, the effective date now has been delayed due to a debate in the House of Commons on 10 January 2024, as outlined in Article 2 of the order:<\/p>\n
