Key changes include:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Recouping CoS Fees<\/strong>: As of December 31, 2024, Skilled Worker sponsors must not recoup any portion of the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) fee from the sponsored worker. Violating this rule could result in the revocation of the sponsor license (S2.12).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Immigration Status Checks<\/strong>: Employers must verify a worker\u2019s immigration status before they begin employment. If a worker has time-limited permission, follow-up checks are required. Failure to comply can result in a civil penalty or license revocation (S7.56). Employers must also check and retain evidence of the worker\u2019s entry date (S7.57).<\/li>\n<li><strong>eVisa Requirements<\/strong>: Biometric Residence Permits are now replaced by eVisas. If a worker is granted entry clearance for more than 6 months and didn\u2019t use the ID check app, they will receive both an eVisa and a 90-day vignette for travel. Workers must create a UKVI account to access their eVisa (S7.58-S7.61).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Right to Work Checks<\/strong>: Workers can begin employment once their immigration permission becomes valid, provided the necessary right to work check is completed.
